The Highland (andMoray) Trail

The Highland and Moray Trail - In the story of Scots football worldwide Moray and The Highlands played in comparison with other parts of our country a seemingly lesser role. But because people of the north not only took themselves elsewhere in Scotland, to England and extensively abroad their influence was global. Football would not have arrived in Spain, in Southern Spain, so early but for them. The same is true on the field in Chile and Argentina and off it in Brazil and Uruguay. Two of Scotland's great players and World football's most important tactical innovators were from Inverness and Elgin respectively. It is their birthplaces, homes and resting places that form this trail with more details of it and of them accessible by clicking on the map to the left.
