The Hampdens

Hampden Park, the home today of all Scotland's home, showpiece, footballing events and the national Football Museum, is something of a generic title. The current iteration is the third to bear the name, the third of four is Lesser Hampden is included, all now or originally sited within five or six hundred yards of each other. Two have been in Crosshill, two are in Mount Florida. Each has its own tale, each can visited in its current form, literally grounded in history. All can easily accessed by public transport, connected on foot and joined with Cathcart and its cemetery as a full Hampden Trail.
