The Leven Trails
Alexandria & Bonhill
In 1872 at the town of Alexandria's Park Neuk it, Bonhill, Renton and Dumbarton adopted football as its own. And in doing so working -class football would emerge for the first time worldwide and conquer elitism. Within four seasons Alexandria and Bonhill's Vale of Leven FC would win the Scottish Cup, the first of three in a row and go on to produce a stream of players, who would take The Vale's game to the national team and eventually into working-class England.
