Dumbarton
Dumbarton FC, The Sons of the Rock, whilst in the early 1870s be one of the triumvirate of local clubs to provide Scotland's doyen, Queen's Park, with its first opposition, would a decade later develop into a mainstay of what s sometimes dubbed The Golden Era. From 1880 to 1883 it would feature in all three Scottish Cup Finals, providing in two the opposition to its mentor and winning one. Its players would be ambassadors of the Scottish game home and abroad. And perhaps most proudly of all of the three original Leven Vale clubs it remains the only one still in our senior game
